NDFMC History
On October 16, 1919, delegates representing various music clubs of the state of North Dakota assembled to discuss plans for forming a state federation of music clubs. A chairman and secretary were appointed, and a committee was appointed to draft a constitution. The stated aim of the organization was to obtain an organized effort among the music clubs of the state, to inspire higher ideals and true musicianship, to promote an appreciation of music and to stimulate a desire for musical expression among the musically interested people of the state. To learn more about the development of our organization, see our Club History document, covering 1919 – 2006.
